McCanners of New York | 35th Edition
How long have you been at McCann and what is your title?
I just hit my five-month anniversary, Director of Social & Mobile
What do you enjoy most when you’re not working?
Running, stopping running to take pictures of street art, eating, and hanging out with my Boston Terrier Stella
Go to Karaoke song
Rolling Stones – Let’s Spend The Night Together
What advice would you tell your 17 year old self?
Love yourself and the rest will follow
Your most bizarre talent.
This is less of a talent, more of an obsession. I love costumes and dressing up and have hosted many costume parties over the years. When I moved to the US nine years ago I brought more costumes than actual clothes with me, which was a bit prohibitive during my first days at work.
What are you currently obsessed with?
Noosa Coconut yoghurt - I challenge you to try it and not eat the whole tub
Name a character trait you’ve inherited from your parents.
My dad talks a LOT; you might say that I do too.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Relaxing in my Caribbean home, living off the profits from my best selling book and talk show
What would be your last meal?
A roast dinner, specifically roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings and a lot of meat gravy. This would be followed by an enormous cheese board and washed down with a very good Cabernet. Seeing as it would be my last meal, I guess I would not be worrying about gout
What is your greatest fear?
I am very squeamish, so don’t take me to see any slasher movies or chop your hand off in my company
Which living person do you most admire?
I am a huge fan of the Queen of England.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Moving to New York
What is your motto?
Just do it (you could say that is someone else’s but I have adopted it as my own)
If you could live at any point in history what point would that be - and why
New York in the 70’s – the birth of hip hop and house music, Andy Warhol, parties, cheap rent
What is a piece of information people would be surprised to hear about you
I was nearly hired as nanny to Mick Jagger’s children. I was interviewed by Mick in his London home as part of the process. I didn’t get the gig, he chose the other girl and apparently said I was too ambitious
If you were reborn as an animal, what would you be?
Definitely a dog - most likely my dog
Favorite Restaurant in NYC?
I have many favorites but Cookshop on 10th Ave is consistently great
Recently a few people have said Jennifer Lawrence looks like me. She can definitely play me in the Lifetime Movie of my life story
If you could have any super power, what would it be?
