The Erickson Room (26-100) honors Alfred Erickson
- As one of the founders of the modern ad agency business, Alfred Erickson launched his own shop, The Erickson Company, in 1902, which merged with The H. K. McCann Company in 1930 to form McCann Erickson.
- His extraordinary career as an entrepreneur included taking on a role as an investor, advisor and even as an active board member at many of his client companies, all while continuing to head his own agency.
- He helped to launch the 4As and the Audit Bureau of Circulations
- The New York Times observed, “He was one of the advertising pioneers whose efforts to form advertising agencies into an association and to establish codes of ethics for their guidance were responsible in a large degree for the development of the advertising agency business in this country.”
