The Story Behind the Name - The Truth Well Told Room (28)
The Truth Well Told Room (28) touts our strategic and creative philosophy
- McCann was unique among agencies in that it went into business with a strategic and creative philosophy, “Truth Well Told”, becoming an innovator among all services companies in all professions and industries—not just among advertising agencies.
- “Truth Well Told” became the first service company mark to be granted official U.S. copyright protection in 1921.
- The “Truth Well Told” phrase itself was crafted by Ralph St. Hill, the agency’s first copy chief, and the emblem was illustrated by Thomas Nast, Jr., the first art director. Nast was the son, and St. Hill the son-in-law, of the famous 19th century political cartoonist Thomas Nast.
