The Mill at McCann
We recently hosted "The Mill" at McCann, a creative agency, that came in to show off some of their incredible work in both the post-production and emerging technology realms.
The presentation was led by Executive Creative Director, Rama Allen, who guided McCanners through their VR world with examples of their work. Attendees got to experience solitary confinement with the Guardian¹s 6x9 project, an alien-invaded world with "Help," a virtual reality experience through your iPad sponsored by Lexus. They also gave us a taste of their post-production prowess, introducing us to the 'Blackbird', a mechanical rig used to mimic the base of any car that The Mill wants to generate into a photo real simulation.
While The Mill is mostly known for their work in animation and post-production graphics, they are diving into the world of VR with fervent passion for visual storytelling and new ways of introducing viewers to immersive experiences. It was an incredible opportunity to see their work. As Allen nicely put it, people exit these projects and say, "I experienced that" instead of "I watched that."
