McCanners of New York | 47th Edition
How long have you been at McCann and what do you do here?
I joined McCann’s social media team a little over a month ago as a Community Manager. You can find me chatting on social platforms, figuring out what exactly makes our audience tick, hashtagging my heart out and keeping up with the latest roll-outs on social.
I’m a collector of feel-good mantras (seriously—check out my Pinterest board), so it’s nearly impossible for me to choose just one. However, the mac daddy of quote hubs I love lies within Baz Luhrmann’s Everyone’s Free to Wear Sunscreen speech.
What do you enjoy most when you’re not working?
I’m fascinated by New York City’s ever-changing culture. I make it a point to wander new neighborhoods, find the hidden gems and overall treat NYC like the incredible vacation destination that it is.
Go-to karaoke song?
September— Earth, Wind & Fire.
What was the last picture you took on your phone?
Vine-y crawled overpass in my hood.
If you could be any age for a week, what age would you be?
101— Oh the stories I would get to share and to witness the way other’s eyes lit up when I revealed my age. Also, muumuus all day!
What are you currently obsessed with?
Nice cream as in ice cream that’s equally kind to the hips and soul. My sweet tooth is wickedly deceived by this sweet treat: a frozen banana, a dash of milk and any toppings your heart desires. My favorite at the moment is almond butter, cocoa nibs, and coconut chips—but I’m constantly surfing Pinterest for new flavors.
What’s on your desk?
A paleo cookbook ironically next to crumbs from a cookie (I regret nothing). My To-Do List and laptop!
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Hopefully well traveled, but this question stresses me out. Next question.
What would be your last meal?
A home cooked Thanksgiving meal, you know — stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, and sweet potato casserole. Complete with Ramen, mac & cheese, and pumpkin pie! But more importantly, I’d hope it would be shared with my family, friends, and a photographer to capture all the joy.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I want to be MADE into a motivational speaker. To communicate ideas effectively is a talent alone, but to sell an idea that inspires others—that’s incredible.
What is your motto?
“With a smile on your face & love in your heart, you will always have peace in your life.” It was a quote my high school art teacher, Ms. McMillan, shared in my yearbook and it just stuck.
Favorite Instagram account you think everyone should follow.
@YellowConference! It’s a hub used to gather and inspire creative women in their everyday life.
Favorite Restaurant in NYC?
As a true noodle enthusiast, I have to say Tasty Hand Pulled Noodles. It's a little dive of a place in the heart of Chinatown whipping up the best noodles and dumplings I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is just what you'd imagine a NYC dive restaurant to be. I spent the coldest day of this past winter sharing a communal table with other NYC residents slurping noodles—It’s truly a local gem. Pics or it didn’t happen? It happened.
