Inside Inspo Vol 4: With Jac & Morgan
Truth Well Brewed is back with an all new Inside Inspo from Jacqueline DeBerry, Jr. Art Director and Morgan Mack, Jr. Copywriter.
When we started Inside Inspo, we realized that a lot of our inspiration is bite-sized, online or in the office. But despite how lovely our McCann office home is, sometimes the sight of your desk neighbor or the black wood walls of 27 or even our gorgeous sunsets of McCann over the Empire State Building can get well, sort of boring. So we asked our peers for their favorite real life sights. If you ever get out of the office or if it ever warms up, you can head over to some of these spots yourself.
Bernard Perez, Jr. Copywriter, thinks that a blank wall is the best kind of wall. So he heads home and stares at the wall right above his desk for inspiration – it’s not distracting, it’s conveniently located in his house and it’s where he finished two portfolios, so it has good juju.
Since he’s also a gamer, Bernard's other favorite place is inside, but also somehow outside. According to BP, “Video games are a place that activates the problem solving part of your brain…[this is] based on what I believe and not some real scientific proof.” So he turns to his PS4’s save files to find sights, sounds and puzzles that help him stop thinking and start doing.
Junior Art Director Emlyn Portillo's favorite places represent two parts of her life. As a bridge & tunnel-er, she spends half her time in the city and the other half in NJ. For some inspo, she loves to head over to Pier 45 and the Edgewater waterfront. It probably has something to do with the fact that she loves water and can’t swim…or that the waterfront reminds her of her favorite waterfront spot of all time, Miami.
Jordan Moss (Jr Designer) is a fan of wandering to take things off her mind. Because seeing a lot of new things all at once is infinitely better than seeing the same view forever right? So she loves heading out on long walks down the Brooklyn Promenade to people watch, or going on long drives to catch sight of something different. When her legs and eyes are tired of wandering, she heads back home and crashes out in her bed, because being cozy is one thing that always gets her thinking.
The Whitney & the Highline – get there early to avoid tourists, and McCanners, get you and a guest into the Whitney for free with your work ID. FREE I SAY.
Philly: The City of Brotherly love isn’t Manhattan -- and that’s just fine. Head out there for a weekend and chill out in a different city.
Go forth and get inspired!
