McCanners Raise Hope at Third Annual NY AIDS Walk
This weekend, I was proud to walk in my third annual NY AIDS Walk, and just as proud to be part of McCann’s first official team to fundraise and participate in the walk. Though we were a small group (joined by our friends & dogs), we raised $350 for the event, which overall amassed $3.7 million. These donations go directly to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis and dozens of other tri-state area nonprofits that support people living with HIV & AIDS.
This cause is so close to my heart, knowing that those fighting this disease are subject to some of the harshest stigmas -- on top of the challenge of managing their physical health through treatment. I hope that our efforts contribute to destigmatizing this disease, and sends a message to those living with it that they are not alone.
Here’s to this year’s walkers and fundraisers, and to an even bigger 2018 NY AIDS Walk for McCann!
