Sean Bryan on Beet.TV’s “Road to Cannes”

Our Co-Chief Creative Officer Sean Bryan was interviewed on Beet.TV’s “The Road to Cannes” interview series, which leads up to the big Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity later this month. Sean discusses the opportunities around longer form video creative, what he sees as new and trending at Cannes and the state of creativity and advertising. Some excerpts from the interview:

On storytelling through longer form content:

“We’re not just telling little stories that fit inside of 30 seconds…we’re trying to tell the stories of things that land out in culture, and the impact that they have around conversations.”

“Hit ‘em with the news, what you did, right away – and then talk about how that changed a topic, changed the conversation around something and let it ripple out from there.”

On creativity and advertising:

“Creativity in advertising is reaching new heights.”

“There’s a lot of energy and attention around advertising again.”

“We’re making brands matter and we’re making them relevant in peoples’ lives – and we’re doing it new and different ways.”

Predictions for Cannes 2017:

“I think this year – more than any year so far – there’s going to be interesting things that are innovative about the way people communicate, and the way they get people to care about brands, issues, causes.”
