McCanners of New York | 100th Edition
How long have you been at McCann and what do you do here?
10 glorious years and I’m a photographer/Content Creator on XBC, The CCO (Chief Cultural Officer) and one of the founders of Truth Well Brewed.
What do you do when you’re not working?
Usually walk around the city, snap some pics, walk down streets I’ve never been down before.
Have you ever cut your own hair?
Yup, I shaved my head.
Favorite go-to drink?
Vodka Soda or Modelo.
Creme Brulee - if it’s on the menu, I order it.
Freshly cut grass or the ocean.
What's your favorite scary movie?
I don’t do scary movies, they give me way too much anxiety.
First ever job?
I was in the business of saving lives (aka lifeguard).
What was your favorite Halloween costume?
One year I was Juno. I wore all my own clothes and threw a pillow under my shirt. It was the best way to get a seat on the subway and the quickest way to get a cab. The only downfall was the weird looks I was getting while drinking a beer.
What was your first ever concert?
Whitney Houston at Radio City Music Hall.
What movie makes you cry?
Beaches...every damn time. Just thinking about it makes me choke up.
Where was the last place you traveled to?
New Orleans. I highly recommend a long weekend there.

"I Want to Dance with Somebody" - Whitney Houston.

What advice would you tell your high school self?
You should probably break up with your boyfriend, it’s not really your thing.
What is the fanciest thing you've ever done?
Does being in the same room as Meryl Streep count as fancy?
What are you currently obsessed with?
My nephews and niece. All day, every day.
Name a character trait you’ve inherited from your parents.
Sarcasm (thanks Dad). My Dad never answers a question seriously and I find that very relatable.
My mom is always putting everyone before herself so I like to think I’ve inherited a little bit of that.

Doing more editorial photo shoots and way more traveling. National Geographic, where you at?!

My mom's meatloaf, it’s magic.
What is your greatest fear?
Revolving doors and clowns.

I’m going to say I admire all 3 of my siblings equally. They are all just really great human beings and have become successful on so many levels. Being the baby of four I have to say that they are some pretty great role models.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I wish I could play a music instrument, preferably the guitar. Music is such a huge part of my life, but the skill levels of playing something is just not there.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Kicking the sh*t out of cancer.
Who are your heroes in real life?
My family, hands down. We’ve had some serious obstacles in the past couple of years and we’ve dominated all of them.

Treat people the way you wish to be treated.
Where are you most likely to splurge?
B&H for some new gear, but lately I’ve been on a serious shoe kick.

I’m actually super sensitive. I know, I know, I look super intimidating but deep down I have a softer side.
One thing you have always wanted to do and have not yet done.
I would love to take a helicopter ride around NYC to photograph from above. It’s happening, it’s just a matter of scheduling.
Best piece of advice someone has given you?
The most recent piece of advice would have to have been from someone I have never met before but is a great friend to my sister. She wrote me an email the night before surgery and this was part of it:
“Don’t let Breast Cancer define you - you define it. Make it your bitch.”
And that’s exactly what I’m doing.
Who is the most glamorous person you have ever met?
I don’t actually remember this day because I was an infant but Paul Newman held me when I was a baby. My mom was in a flower shop with my sister and I when she felt a tap on her shoulder asking if he could help and hold her baby while she finished shopping. She said no before turning around, but after seeing who it was she quickly handed me over.

Whatever animal is small and scrappy.

2. Stevie Nicks because well, she’s Stevie Nicks
3. Kate McKinnon because she’s fucking hilarious and I firmly believe we would be best friends.
