Celebrating McCann Worldgroup Cultural Spotlight Week
As a globally integrated community that influences and shapes culture, McCann Worldgroup and the Global Diversity Coalition hosted their second annual Cultural Spotlight Week.
This program showcases the intersection of culture and creativity through social content amplified across MWG’s social media channels. Employees and leaders in five different cities -- Madrid, Seoul, Detroit, Riyadh & Buenos Aires -- shared their perspectives on how diversity and inclusivity further unleashes the creative power of our talent.
Here in NYC, we celebrated by hosting a special edition of our weekly happy hour, Thursdays@5, featuring delicious bites indigenous to each culture like Chocolate con Churros for Mardid, Korean Fried Chicken for Seoul, and Ma’amoul Cookies for Riyadh.
Global Diversity Coalition Champions Danielle Granderson and Monica Lum kicked off the program by sharing details around the Coalition’s mission and the genesis of the Cultural Spotlight program.
MWG Global Chief Strategy Officer Suzanne Powers and MWG Global Chief Creative Officer Rob Reilly took the stage to talk about the importance of the content generated for spotlight week because it helps all of our employees gain awareness and understanding of the cultures and identities across our global network.
The program ended on a high note with a special performance by the NYU dance group K-NESIS, who explained how the KPOP dance style came to popularity in the US and then gave an energetic performance, which dazzled everyone.
