How long have you been at McCann and what do you do here?

5 months, I’m a Strategy Director on the MGM Resorts account.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I have an almost-four-year-old so when I’m not here I’m usually with him. But a passion of mine is making craft cocktails. I have a bit of a bar at home, and I like to explore new cocktails in my downtime, which can also mean tracking down esoteric liqueurs and creating infusions.

What would your DJ name be?

DJ 2 Fresh

Have you ever cut your own hair?

I would never.

Favorite go-to drink?

At an average bar, gin and tonic. At a cocktail bar, bartender’s choice, but lately I’ve been enjoying the Bow & Arrow and Infante.

If you were to open a bar, what would you call it?

Sin Nombre. I’m actually going to see how long I can get away with running a makeshift bar out of my apartment for the neighbors in my co-op.

Favorite desert

Bread pudding

Favorite smell

Hot city trash…haha…kidding. If you could bottle up the smell of New York’s halal carts, bacon, egg and cheese (with salt, pepper, and ketchup), the East River, Central Park after a refreshing sun shower, and yes, hot trash, I think that would be my favorite smell. I love my hometown; I’m that obnoxious New Yorker that’s never lived anywhere else because they don’t think anywhere else is worth living. I’m 31 years old and I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of its smells.

Last thing you Googled

Hipster bike rider

What's your favorite scary movie?

Pan’s Labyrinth

First ever job?

Working in the Children’s Wing of a library.

What was your favorite Halloween costume?

I don’t know if I would consider it my best costume, but I dressed as Barack Obama the year of his first run. I’ve been getting called Obama since he broke out on the scene. So, I figured I’d go with it.

Best Date spot in NYC?

Near the office, Raine’s Law Room at The William.

What was your first ever concert?

Linkin Park, not proud of that.

What movie makes you cry?

The only movie that I can think I’ve cried watching is the Netflix original, The Little Prince, but I watched it with my son, who I desperately want to stay a baby.

Where was the last place you traveled to?

If you were stuck on an island with three coworkers, who would they be?

1.    Ryan Paulson because we both probably got left behind for not flying first class.

2.    Dan Wilkos because he seems like he could take down a wild boar for food. If not, we can eat him.

3.    And the last person knows who they are.

Who are your creative heroes?

Henri Cartier-Bresson, Nas and Sasha Petraske.

Current song on repeat?

Emotionless by Drake. It’s Scorpion season!

“A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.” -William Shakespeare

Keeps me humble and grounded.

Something from Drake.

What was the last picture you took on your phone?

My son at McKids Day.

What advice would you tell your high school self?

Stop giving so much of yourself to other people. Look out for #1 first and you can do better than St. John’s.

If you could be any age for a week, what age would you be?

65, retired, with a big stack of cash.

What is the fanciest thing you've ever done?

Spend $300 on a tasting menu lunch at the restaurant, Mil, in the Sacred Valley, Peru.

Iced coffee or hot coffee? From where?

Nitro cold brew from Starbucks. Get that ice out of my face! Give it to me straight!

Name a character trait you’ve inherited from your parents.

Goofiness, which apparently took everyone here by surprise when I started and was completely different from how I interviewed.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

At McCann; the executive team reads this, right?

What would be your last meal?

6 hour slow cooked adobo chicken with rice and maduros.

What is your greatest fear?

Dying alone and forgotten. And spiders. I f**king hate spiders.

Which living person do you most admire?

Barack Obama

Which talent would you most like to have?

There’s too many to list but being able to whistle loudly with two fingers would be awesome.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Raising my son without him turning out to be a jerk 3-year-old.

What is your motto?

“A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

Where are you most likely to splurge?

A good meal and Disney World. I started a Disney fund for my son before I started a 529.

If you could live at any point in history what point would that be - and why?

The future, when we treat each other fairly and with dignity.

Your worst habit?

Waiting until the last minute to rush to the bus stop with my son in the morning. History really should teach me better.

Best piece of advice someone has given you?

If you’re managing someone, don’t seek perfection in their work if it means taking away their sense of ownership.

Do the Obamas count? I’d practically fit right in!
