Your sleepless nights thumbing through Tech Crunch articles in search of CES insights have reached their end. Here are 3 things that you should be asking yourself every single day before you reach for your tooth brush, forever:
1. Is your brand somehow connected to a smart network?
It’s not just about turning your lights on and seeing how many eggs are left in your fridge - everything is getting connected. Your phone will be connected to a smart, refrigerated delivery car, which is connected to your grocery store, whose produce is directly linked to the farmers they came from using blockchain… and your mailbox will let you know when everything is delivered.
These smart networks are going to exist in every category. They’re going to make our lives so, so convenient, that we won’t want to use any product or service that isn’t compatible them. If your brand isn’t getting connected, something is wrong. Are you making sure that your brand won’t get left behind?
2. When using tech, does your product or marketing have a clear, human role?
There was AR, VR, 5G, BC; whatever acronym you can think of, we saw it. The tech and its potential are incredible… but the most talked about gadgets in CES? A bread making machine and a beer brewer.
You can have the coolest tech experience “thing” in the world, but if it doesn’t have clear human application, people won’t care. Are you making sure your brand is using tech with a human purpose?
3. How will your brand use the bountiful data that’s coming?
Again, lots of smart devices out there. The problem is that there are more smart devices than our networks can handle. 5G is going to change that. There will be smart homes, smart streets, smart stores, smart offices, smart movie theaters, smart “going to a house party, but realizing you only know, like, 2 people there and now you want to go home” - smart everything.
With that will come data. We’ll be able to learn much more about our audiences and target them in unprecedented contexts. How can you help your brand be smart about the new opportunities to come?
Thanks for reading and shout out to the brave McCann team who made 2019’s CES experience as awesome as it was.
