McCann Hispanic Heritage Month Portrait Series: Valentina Schweickert
Next up on our Hispanic Heritage Month spotlight is Valentina Schweickert.
What is your name and position at McCann?
Valentina Schweickert, Associate Director Global TA Programs at MW.
What part of the Hispanic community do you represent?
I’m from South America (Santiago, Chile). I moved to the US about 6 years ago.
What’s one of your favorite things from the community you represent?
Something that I love about Chileans is that when your family and friends are over for lunch, they usually stay until 9pm hehe. You get to spend the whole day with them! Also, we spend every summer at the beach eating seafood (just with lemon and salt) and of course Asado (steak, potatoes, and pebre)!
How has your heritage shaped your perspective and influenced your work in advertising?
I’m from a very small country and I know how hard it is sometimes for your voice to be heard. Since I joined McCann 5 years ago, I have tried to make sure every voice is being heard. I believe this is the only way we can create an inclusive work environment.
Tell us about the picture. The photo is of myself with my daughter (Emilia) from last Chilean summer. It was her first time in Chile and the ocean (Pacific). Hopefully, that also becomes a tradition for us!
