McCocktail of the Month: Business with Pleasure
I was surprised by the turnout for East Meets Westlast round, which was gone within 15 minutes of happy hour starting. It was a valuable learning experience, not having made a drink on such a large scale, and I hope to continue refining my methods.
This month I’ll be mixing up a bit of a simpler concoction, with a name that explains it all: Business with Pleasure. I can’t take credit for this one. That honor goes to Zachary Gelnaw-Rubin at Lion Lion in East Harlem. It’s actually a riff off of the late Sasha Petraske’s The Business; which is even simpler, but equally delicious. Cocktails are a lot like jazz. People think it’s a precious science, when in actuality, it’s a lot of improvisation and building off of other people’s contributions. It’s very organic.
Servings will be limited. So, get to HK’s promptly! Drink details below:
2 oz gin
.75 oz pineapple juice
.75 oz lime juice
.5 oz honey syrup
Shaken and strained
