What is your favorite political milestone since Stonewall? For me, it would have to be the legalization of same-sex marriage. It cemented in me that my life didn’t have to be any different than that of my siblings. That I could have what they would be able to have.
What does Stonewall represent for you? To me, stonewall/the Stonewall riots represent the strength & resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.
Describe yourself in 3 words. – Dorky, shy & patient
How important is it for you to be out at work? It is incredibly important. Before I moved to New York – I was afraid to reveal anything about my sexuality. I dodged specific questions/conversations because I was unsure of how my co-workers would react. It wasn’t until I started working at McCann that I realized just how much of myself I was hiding – and how stifling that can be. Having the freedom to express yourself in all aspects of your life, including work, fulfills your soul.
Who is your biggest advocate in life? My family – we are incredibly close & they go out of their way to lift me up & fill my soul with love.
